I’ve had my Nocs Provisions Pro Issue 8x42 binoculars for a week now and there are a few things that I’ve noticed. First, I want to mention again that I did receive this pair of binoculars for free in exchange for writing a review post. Now, to the things that I’ve noticed about these binoculars.
So far, I haven’t been able to find a lot of things that I don’t like about these binoculars. The only thing that I will mention at this point against them is that the eye cups seem a little loose. So, if you’re a person like me who presses their binoculars into their face when you focus, the eye cups do tend to drift inwards a bit and can distort your view with the black edge of the binoculars.
On the positive side, the glass provides wonderful images even in low light. There aren’t a lot of active birds among the tree canopies in our park right now, but I did go out a couple of times to test their abilities. On a cloudy day under canopy cover, I still had a nice clear image. I tested them at the Maskunky Marsh as well, a place where magnification is key. I could see Great Blue Herons clearly at distance, but it would have been nice to have some smaller shorebirds there to test as well.
Everyone that I have let have a turn at looking through these binoculars has been impressed. My dad even said that he thought they were better than his pair of Vortex (I’m not sure which model he owns). I will continue to use these binoculars over my old Nikons and write another update after I’ve had them a month, but for now I’m enjoying my new capabilities through much better binoculars and I would absolutely recommend these to any birder, beginner or experienced.
